Flat Strip Springs – Specifications
Usually .008” to .062” and up to 1.5” wide. Call for other sizes.
Various materials, annealed to spring temper including steel, brass, bronze, stainless steel and aluminum.
Flat strip, referring to material at least 5 times wider than thick, can be formed or bent in many shapes. Material can be soft for static applications such as brackets, or spring temper for added strength or reciprocal applications. Some materials can be purchased annealed for ease of forming or machining and then hardened after manufacturing. Caution in post-manufacturing hardening is mandatory since part distortion during heating and quenching is expected. Some processes such as austemper can minimize distortion. Our flat strip capability is generally in quantities of several thousand or less.
